Description

Odeal, a German-born, Nigeria-raised, and London-based artist, is quickly carving out a unique space for himself in the global music scene. His project, Sunday at Zuri’s, is a four-track EP that immerses listeners in a lush, tropical soundscape inspired by his time spent at Zuri’s a beach house in Nigeria. We have re-released it on the one year anniversary mark creating excitement amongst day one fans who have been there from the beginning. Odeal is known for his rich cultural fusion, by blending elements of Afrobeats and R&B, crafting songs that feel both deeply rooted and globally resonant. The project is a sonic escape, described by New Wave Magazine as “the soundtrack of 2024’s summer,” offering both upbeat rhythms and emotional depth. Each track on the EP reflects a different moment in the imagined Sunday at Zuri’s. “Sondela” opens the project with an energetic, sun-drenched vibe that invites listeners to dance and relax. “ONOME” brings a tender devotion to the mix, as Odeal sings in both Yoruba and West African Pidgin about love and obsession. “SohSoh,” produced by PD and Gerald, shifts into a smoother, more sensual tone, perfect for slow dancing and intimate moments. The closing track, “Free Me,” explores emotional freedom and introspection as day turns to night in Lagos. With poetic lyricism, multilingual delivery, and genre-defying sound, Odeal captures the feeling of a carefree summer while anchoring it in cultural specificity. Sunday at Zuri’s is more than a seasonal soundtrack it’s a vivid storytelling experience through sound, showcasing Odeal’s growing artistry and distinct musical vision.
