Description
The Smashing Pumpkins released Adore in June 1998 through Virgin Records. This album served as the band’s fourth studio album and followed their highly successful 1995 double album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Adore marked a new direction for the band as lead singer Billy Corgan experimented with different sounds and approaches. The absence of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin also had a significant impact on the album’s creation, shaping the overall tone and feel of the record.
