Test Recordings by The Lounge Society, is a series of pre-album sessions in the studio with producer Dan Carey. Recorded in a bid to capture a brief moment in time in which the songs lay in their embryonic form, Test Recordings features six tracks that would eventually make up Tired Of Liberty; the debut album by The Lounge Society, released in the summer of ’22 via Speedy Wunderground. The brief was simple. Let’s attempt to capture a ‘before-and-after’ comparison of the tracks, before they’re road-tested live. The result A series of masterful intuition; recorded in one longform take, with no mixing. A savvy fan’s wonderland, featuring a mismatch of lyrics, and instrumental experimentation (‘North Is Your Heart’ transforms into a lyric-less jam session), Test Recordings packs a hearty punch of adolescent splendour; harking back to the jagged golden-era of CBGB escapism, rebellious intensity and disco-esq basslines.
