Description
You’d expect Pegboy to draw attention on pedigree alone. Guitarist John Haggerty was in Naked Raygun, drummer Joe Haggerty played with Bloodsport and Effigies, while singer Larry Damore and bassist Steve Saylors came from Bhopal Stiffs. Originally released in 1991, their first full-length album Strong Reaction captures the band sharpening their feel for hard-charging melodic punk on songs like Superstar and What To Do. It also makes room for the toe-crunching instrumental Locomotivelung – a wild detour that sounds like what Slayer might have made if they’d got haircuts and jobs.
