The self-titled debut from French outfit PRISONER arrives as a raw, hypnotic burst of modern garage rock-less a traditional song-based album and more a mood piece built from repetition, texture, and atmosphere. Released on Wicked Cool Records, the record leans into a stripped-down philosophy: riffs first, everything else second. Unlike many garage releases, Prisoner is largely instrumental, with vocals used sparingly- often as distant, almost incidental elements rather than the focal point. This gives the album a cinematic, drifting quality.
